  • Frozen Shrublands

This piece of territory can be described as the edge of the fir forest. Most of it is made up of various cold loving sturdy shrubs and bushes. Many grasses and wildflowers fill in the spaces between said shrubs and bushes until the bare brown earth is no longer visible. A very sparse number of fir, spruce, and juniper trees can be seen scattered throughout this chilly place. However, most of the larger woody plants found here that someone might see will be juniper bushes. This land ends abruptly at the sea of chills. Dangerous cliffs separate the frozen shrub lands from the cold salty waves.

  • Tall Fir Plateau

This most northern portion of forest is mainly made up of massive and old fir trees. A large portion of this woodland covers a plateau giving this place its name. Occasionally you may see a spruce here and there, and only rarely will you ever see a pine tree unless you are traveling near the southern edges of this forest. The giant fir trees tower over pretty much every pant and animal that lives underneath them. At the northern end of this forest the trees begin to shorten. Open space between the firs grow wider until at last there are no more trees but shrubs and bushes taking their place.

  • No Sky Forest

This section of the forest is filled with a mixture of tall ancient fir, spruce, pine, hemlock, juniper, and cedar trees. Normally a dragon cannot see the sky through the dense canopy of the evergreen forest. However, there are a few sparse clearings throughout the forest that have been opened up by fire, landslides, or flooding. In these clearings many short lived grasses and wildflowers grow in the sunlight until the smaller sapling trees begin to take root.

  • Tooth and Claw Mountains

These mountains very suddenly rise up from the earth into jagged young peaks. The northern end of the mountain range connects into the Tall Fir plateau. From there the mountains split the center and eastern portions of the continent until they reach the southeastern Emerald Sea. The steep faces and tops of the mountains have no trees or plant life growing upon them. Only snow and cold stone grace the highest areas of these peaks. Where plants do grow only sparse grasses and sturdy shrubs cling onto the rock between the cracks. Lower down near the base of the mountains the shrubs turn into juniper bushes, then slowly those bushes merge into short spindly spruce and pine trees. At the foot of the mountains forests of mixed evergreen tree species envelope the landscape.
